چکیده

We show that the observable rate of tunneling ionization of a molecule in intense low-frequency laser field is affected by nuclear motion and can essentially differ from a bare electronic characteristic calculated for fixed nuclei. Both the absolute value of the rate and the shape of its orientation dependence are affected. The effect is significant for I ∼ 1014 W/cm2 and becomes more pronounced at lower intensities. An isotope effect in tunneling ionization of H2 and D2 is predicted. The results are compared with available experiments. PACS numbers: 32.80.Rm, 33.80.Rv, 42.50.Hz

Effect of an improved molecular potential on strong-field tunneling ionization of molecules

We study the effect of one-electron model potentials on the tunneling ionization rates of molecules in strong fields. By including electron correlation using the modified Leeuwen-Baerends (LB α) model, the binding energies of outer shells of molecules are significantly improved. However, we show that the tunneling ionization rates from the LB α do not differ much from the earlier calculations [...

Modeling and Simulation of a Molecular Single-Electron Transistor

In this paper, to understand the concept of coupling, molecule density of states that coupled to the metal electrodes will be explained then, based on this concept, a weak and strong coupling for the molecules attached to the metal electrodes will be described. Capacitance model is used to explore the connection of addition energy with the Electron affinity and the ionization energy of the mole...

Tunneling Ionization Rates from Arbitrary Potential Wells

We present a practical numerical technique for calculating tunneling ionization rates from arbitrary 1-D potential wells in the presence of a linear external potential by determining the widths of the resonances in the spectral density, ρ(E), adiabatically connected to the field-free bound states. While this technique applies to more general external potentials, we focus on the ionization of el...

Time-dependent density-functional-theory calculation of strong-field ionization rates of H2

We report a numerical study of strong-field ionization rates of the H2 molecule using time-dependent densityfunctional theory (TDDFT). In the dc field limit, TDDFT results for the rate of tunneling ionization agree with molecular Ammosov-Delone-Kralnov (MO-ADK) predictions, as well as results from a complex scaling method at the full configuration interaction level. Our study demonstrates the e...

Momentum partition between constituents of exotic atoms during laser induced tunneling ionization

The tunneling ionization of exotic atoms such as muonic hydrogen, muonium and positronium in a strong laser field of circular polarization is investigated taking into account the impact of the motion of the center of mass on the the tunneling ionization dynamics. The momentum partition between the ionization products is deduced. The effect of the center of mass motion for the momentum distribut...
